From Pain to Passion: A Journey of Faith and Healing

Life often throws us into deep waters, challenging the very essence of our spirit. It’s in these tough times that we find out just how strong our faith is and how resilient we can be. I invite you to come along on a heartfelt journey, one that explores both the physical and spiritual trials of life. This journey starts with confusion and sorrow, with questions that seem to have no answers. Yet, it leads to a powerful revelation, transforming deep pain into a passionate calling, tears into powerful stories of survival, and disappointment into a predestined path. This story is about healing, the steadfast love of God, and the remarkable ways He can turn our lives around. So, take a moment, breathe deeply, open your heart, and let’s walk together from pain to passion, where faith is stronger, and hope shines the brightest.

It all started in a blur. The doctor was speaking, but his words seemed distant, almost meaningless. I found myself drifting in and out of focus, wondering, “Why is this happening again?” Despite doing everything right, I faced the heartbreak of an ectopic pregnancy for the second time. “Why can’t modern technology fix this?” I pondered. The dream of a big family, once inspired by my favorite family shows growing up, felt more like a distant fantasy at 38.

Facing spiritual disappointment is like a river’s water constantly flowing over rocks, causing a subtle yet steady erosion. It’s a process that happens beneath the surface, unseen by others, where your faith begins to wear away quietly.

Lying in the hospital bed, I felt a single tear roll down my cheek, dropping silently into my ear. My family, trying to spare me the sight of their own tears, turned away. I didn’t want to see a counselor; I counsel people myself and thought I knew what to expect.

The internal struggle was agonizing. Part of me sank into sadness, while another part clung to scriptures and the goodness of God. It was a fight between giving in to grief and striving to accept my reality, thanks to my driven personality. Amidst the sleepless nights, interrupted by the diligent nursing staff, I prayed.

Describing what I felt is hard, but imagine being enveloped by a huge, warm blanket both around and inside you. I was overwhelmed. I felt God’s presence so strongly it was almost like I could touch it. He seemed to say, “I am your comforter,” and in that moment, I believed I would be okay. I was in His hands. The sadness of my loss lingered, but a shift had occurred. I knew God was with me.

God’s love, confirmed by my “faith file” of past experiences, assured me of His support in every need. Whether I was sick, lonely, or sad, He was there—my Healer, my Friend, my Comforter. My love for Him deepened, grateful that He listened to my calls.

Looking back on those challenging times, I smile at the irony of my prayer for “One egg in one womb.” I didn’t realize then that God had a bigger plan. Through ministry, I was able to birth countless spiritual “babies,” transforming my wound into a womb for new life.

Before we move on to the closing prayer, let’s reflect on a few thoughtful questions:

  • Have you ever faced a challenge that seemed insurmountable?
  • If you’re still standing, still believing in God, you carry a testimony within you.
  • Let’s pray together for ourselves and for those needing to feel the touch of our Savior’s grace.

Father, thank you for holding each tear I’ve shed, as promised in Psalms 56:8. You’re aware of every struggle, and I trust you with every part of my life. Help me to embrace your grace and mercy in my trials. Strengthen me in my weakness, and remind me of your faithful love when my faith wavers. I praise you as my Comforter and honor Jesus as my Prince of Peace. Thank you for turning my pain into passion, my tears into stories of strength, and my disappointment into a destiny filled with purpose. Use me, Lord, to shine for your glory. Amen.
